/ Description
XenoArt is a location-based augmented reality (AR) mobile application that transforms Melbourne's urban landscape into an interactive storytelling experience.
Problem | The project brief required designing a geolocated mobile narrative within a 25km radius. While Melbourne is renowned for its vibrant street art and public installations, there is a lack of an integrated platform for art enthusiasts to discover these locations, connect, and share their experiences.
Solution | Developed XenoArt, a location-based AR application that overlays fictional narratives onto the physical world. The design leverages storytelling and gamification to encourage urban art exploration while simultaneously aiming to stimulate the local economy.
Outcome | By integrating real-world rewards such as vendor coupons, the app incentivizes users to discover hidden urban beauty and engage with surrounding businesses, creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem for both explorers and local vendors. The project was nominated for the Swinburne AGDA Student Award.
